National Forum on Migration 2017

One of the major activities lined-up for this year’s celebration of the Month of Overseas Filipinos (MOF) is the conduct of the NATIONAL FORUM ON MIGRATION. This is also the culminating activity of the MOF Celebration since it is celebrated tomorrow, December 18 which is the International Migrants Day.
The theme of this year’s Forum is “ENHANCING REINTEGRATION, LEAVING NO MIGRANTS AND THEIR FAMILIES BEHIND.” This is in line with the policy pronouncement of President Rodrigo Duterte of providing assistance to overseas Filipinos and bringing government services closer to migrants, including the reintegration program. It will also highlight the various reintegration programs and services offered by the government to returning OFWs and other overseas Filipinos. These services will cover psycho-social, livelihood and investment, and employment, among others.
Part of the Forum are also three MOF-related activities such as Film Showing on Migration, Cultural Show, and Awarding Ceremony for the Migration Advocacy and Media Awards.
The Forum is free of charge. For all interested Overseas Filipinos, OFWs, and their families, they need to pre-register with the Philippine Migrants Rights Watch (PMRW) (tel. +632 526-9098, email: pmrw@pmrw.org.ph) or Commission on Filipinos Overseas (tel. +632 552-4766, email: ftingga@cfo.gov.ph).
